Berkeley. Harvard Law. BigLaw. Consulting. BigLaw again.
Genuinely a great guy. We had to roast him anyway.

The Man, The Myth

Let's be honest.

LinkedIn

500+ connections. 1,447 followers. Zero posts. He is building an audience for a show he has not announced.

Berkeley Men's Octet

Eight-part harmony. Coordinated blazers. Actually a good singer. The most impressive thing on his resume. Buried under three law jobs.

Every Restaurant, Every Time

Chicken tikka masala. Naan. Never wavers. Never questions it. If only he brought this energy to career decisions.

To His Credit

By all accounts, a great dad. Two kids now — he just welcomed a son into the world. The man shows up for his family in a way he has never shown up for a single law firm. No notes. Genuine, unironic respect.

The Career

A trilogy.

  • 1BigLaw — Harvard Business Law Review editor. Ready to change the world. The world is billing at $400/hr.Out
  • 2BCG — Makes decks. Flies a lot. Realizes "strategic advice" ≠ fulfillment.Also out
  • 3Cooley (Tech M&A) — Returns to the scene of the crime. Higher rate. Same 11pm emails. BCG apparently didn't take. Megs believes in him. The billing clock does not.God help him
Additional Evidence

More things on the record.

The Proposal

Proposed on a helicopter pad. One knee. Professionally documented. More commitment shown in this single moment than to any single employer. Meghana said yes.

05.12.18

DTLA engagement shoot. Full suits. Multiple outfit changes. Married Megs, May 12, 2018. This is what conviction looks like. Take notes, resume.

On Returning to BigLaw

He left. He reflected. He consulted. He made decks about other people's problems so he wouldn't have to think about his own. He flew business class to Cleveland. And then — after all of that soul-searching — he went back. Same letterhead. Sharper rate. The industry has a word for this arc. Several, actually. We won't use them here. We'll just note that the exit interview and the re-onboarding email are now in the same Gmail thread.

The Harvard Seal Incident

When Harvard retired its shield — a slaveholder's family crest — Parth argued it should stay, on the grounds of tradition. The institution disagreed. He lost. He has since demonstrated a general ability to adapt. Except, as noted, professionally.

The Archives

A documented life.

In Conclusion

We love you, Parth. 🎉

Warm. Talented. Well-dressed. Incredible dad — twice over now. Congratulations on your son. Genuinely. No roast, just love on that one.

The career will figure itself out. It always does with you. The tikka masala already has.
